The Game ChangeHER Way
What We Believe. How We Teach. Why It Works.
This isn’t a list of features. It’s a declaration. Read it once and you’ll understand exactly why this Academy exists — and why everything here is built the way it is.
The Pickleball Industry Has A Women Problem.
Not a participation problem. Women are showing up in droves. Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the country and a huge chunk of that growth is women over 40 picking up a paddle for the first time and falling completely in love with it.
The problem is what happens next.
She gets handed content built for men. Taught technique that doesn’t account for how she moves, how she thinks, or what she actually needs to improve. She watches YouTube for 45 minutes and ends up more confused than when she started. She takes a clinic and spends most of it watching someone else get corrected while she stands there wondering what she’s supposed to be doing.
She keeps playing. She keeps practising. She doesn’t keep getting better.
And then — because she’s a woman and because she’s been conditioned to do this — she decides the problem is her.
It’s not her. It was never her. It was the system. And we built a different one.
And Then There’s Our Bodies.
Let’s talk about the thing almost nobody in this industry is willing to say out loud.
We are not men. We do not move like men. We do not recover like men. We do not carry the same strength in the same places, and we do not show up to the court having slept eight hours, eaten perfectly, and operated in a body that just quietly does what it’s told.
We show up having navigated hormones that can change by the hour. Hot flashes that hit mid-rally. Brain fog that makes a simple scoring call feel like a university exam. Joints that are less forgiving than they were ten years ago. A body that is working harder than it looks like it’s working — and getting approximately zero credit for it.
Some of us are in perimenopause. Some of us are post-menopause. Some of us are somewhere in the middle of a hormonal transition that nobody warned us would affect our reaction time, our sleep, our joints, our confidence, and yes — our pickleball game.
Men have, on average, greater upper body strength. A different centre of gravity. A different relationship with their bodies under pressure. The game was largely designed around their physicality — and then handed to us with a “good luck, adapt.”
We didn’t adapt. We rebuilt.
We teach you to play to your actual strengths — not a watered-down version of someone else’s.
The Game ChangeHER Way is built around how the female body actually works. That means efficiency over power. It means placement over pace. It means understanding that your biggest competitive advantages — patience, precision, court intelligence, and the ability to stay calm when everything is chaotic — are things men typically have to work harder to develop.
It also means we talk about the stuff nobody else talks about. The days your body isn’t cooperating and you need to modify. The mental load you carry onto the court that has nothing to do with pickleball. The fact that rest is not weakness — it is literally how your body builds the neural pathways that make you better.
You are not a man who plays pickleball. You are a woman who plays pickleball. That is a completely different and entirely more interesting thing to be. This Academy was built for exactly that person.
What We Actually Believe.
These aren’t talking points. They’re the things that kept us up at night until we built something about them.
Hormones Are Not An Excuse. They Are A Reality.
Perimenopause, menopause, cortisol, sleep disruption, joint inflammation — these are not things to push through and ignore. They are things to understand, account for, and build a smarter practice around. Any coach who dismisses this has never coached the women on this platform.
Life Stressors Show Up On Court Whether You Invite Them Or Not.
You are not just a pickleball player. You are a woman carrying work, family, relationships, and health onto the court with you every single time. We build mental reset tools into this system because that’s not a nice-to-have. It’s essential.
Women Don’t Need To Be Taught Like Men.
The game looks the same on both sides of the net. The way you learn it, feel it, process it, and own it is entirely your own. Any system that ignores that is leaving half your potential on the court.
Technique Without Thinking Is Just Expensive Confusion.
We’ve watched women drill the same shot a thousand times and still panic when it matters. That’s not a technique problem. That’s a decision problem. We teach the decision first. The technique follows.
The 40+ Woman Is Not A Consolation Prize Audience.
She is competitive. She is coachable. She is disciplined in ways a 25-year-old hasn’t lived long enough to be yet. She deserves to be taken seriously — on court and in every piece of content built for her.
Overwhelm Is Not A Learning Style.
One cue, drilled properly, transferred to a real game situation — that is worth more than 47 YouTube videos combined. We built every single lesson on that principle.
Practice Without Purpose Is Just Exercise.
If you want to actually improve — if you want to walk on court and feel dangerous instead of hopeful — you need a system. Not a playlist. Not a vibe. A system.
The Game Is Won Between Your Ears Before The Ball Leaves Your Paddle.
Mental toughness isn’t a bonus feature for elite players. It’s the foundation every single one of us needs to build first.
How We Teach.
Everything in this Academy is built on five principles. Not because we read them in a coaching manual. Because we tested them on real women, in real games, with real results.
01 — Think First. Then Hit.
Every shot starts with a decision. Players who think first hit better. Every time. Without exception. We train the decision before we train the swing.
02 — One Thing At A Time.
Pick one thing. Get reps on it. Take it to a game. Then move. The women who improve fastest are the ones who resist fixing everything.
03 — Match Transfer Over Drills.
A drill you can’t use in a real game is just exercise with props. Every drill ends with a match transfer. What does this look like when the game is live?
04 — Efficiency Over Effort.
Smarter practice beats harder practice every time. We will never tell you to hit more balls. We will always tell you to hit the right balls with the right intention.
05 — Process Over Outcome.
You cannot control whether you win. You can control whether you execute the process. We teach women to measure improvement by the quality of their decisions.
What This Academy Is Not.
Not A Highlight Reel.
Angela — our co-founder — documents her entire journey through this Academy in real time. The confusion. The frustration. The reps that go wrong. The moment it finally clicks. That’s the content. Because that’s the truth.
Not A YouTube Rabbit Hole.
Every video here has one job. One problem. One cue. One drill. Two minutes maximum. We are not interested in your watch time. We are interested in your improvement.
Not A Boys’ Club With A Pink Logo.
We didn’t take a generic pickleball platform and slap a flower on it. We built this from the ground up for the specific way women learn, compete, process, and grow in this sport.
Not A Place Where Being Good At Everything Else Means Nothing.
You are an accomplished woman. You have skills, discipline, and competitive fire that most coaches never bother to tap into. We tap into all of it.
We built this for the woman who is done being an afterthought in a sport she loves.
Why This Community Exists.
The game matters. Getting better at it matters. But neither of those things is the whole reason we built this.
We built this because pickleball has a way of becoming a third space — a place outside of work, outside of family, outside of every role and responsibility you carry — where you get to just be a person trying to do something well. That matters more than people admit out loud.
This community is for women who show up. Who do the reps when nobody’s watching. Who help the woman next to them at the kitchen line figure out why her dinks keep popping up. Who post their wins without apology and their struggles without shame.
You belong here exactly as you are right now. And you will leave here better than you arrived. That’s the only promise we make. And we keep it.
One Last Thing.
We are not the coaches who show up, take your money, and hand you a drill sheet.
Lee built the system because she watched too many women play diminished versions of the game they were capable of — and she decided that was unacceptable. Angela went through the Academy herself — publicly, honestly, with zero shortcuts — because if it works for the co-founder it works for everyone.
We believe in this system because we’ve seen it work. Not on professionals. On women exactly like you — busy, competitive, occasionally frustrated, and absolutely capable of being dangerous on a pickleball court when someone finally teaches them the right way.
You’re in the right place. Now go do the reps.
Less than the cost of one private lesson. Every single month. The only question is which plan is right for you right now.
